AFFIRMATION OF THE MONTH: NOVEMBER

“I am more than capable of hitting my goals. I am strong, resilient, and intelligent.”

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that daily, story affirmations are my thing. I really wanted this section of the blog to be a monthly diary entry where I could open up to you guys about what I'll be trying to affirm all month long. My affirmation of the month! Little back story: my love for affirmations started about 3 years ago when I started therapy. A huge part of my healing journey was rooted in affirmations; things that I was having a hard time believing about myself, my situation, or my feelings became lists of sayings that my therapist would give me at the end of our sessions. Not only was she trying to show me (without actually telling me haha) the things that I struggled with internally, but it was a clear, tangible list of the things I could start speaking into my day, that slowly became mindset switches. I started to see the actual impact that these affirmations had; not only was it changing the levels of positivity & productivity for my day, but the repetition of affirmations started to leave an actual impact when working through my depression and anxiety.

I know that many of us struggle and I know we hear all the time that "mindset is everything", but I never resonated with it until it started to move from a cliche to a new way of thinking.

It wasn't just enough to want to start healing & growing ... I had to start rewiring and retraining my brain to believe certain things that I had been doubting for as long as I could remember. I started saying "no" to the lies that I was telling myself, and started affirming the things that I knew I was capable of.

Affirmations are a part of my daily life now and lately, I feel like I've had to lean on them more than usual. The end of the year is always hard; especially, around this time, work never stops and the holidays are swiftly approaching. Sometimes I feel like I am in way over my head: I think we all do at point in our career and, even our personal life. This month's affirmation is currently on replay in my head ... I am more than capable of hitting my goals ... even if it seems like I am in over my head. I am going to take it day by day, task by task. I am strong, resilient, and intelligent.
